Not home yet

Not home yet

You and I need to be encouraged.  As Christians we have the hope of Heaven.  But we’re not home yet.  The world we live in is well it’s a mess.  But God’s not done with us yet.  I found hope in the opening of the book of Galatians.

Galatians 1:3-5
“Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be the glory for ever and ever. Amen.”

Did you catch that?  Jesus rescued us from both our sins and this evil age.  We just aren’t home yet we have to keep drawing close to him and his grace and peace in the meantime.  Does that mean all the trouble will disappear?  Nope but we do have a Savior to help us and therein lies the hope because Jesus is hope made flesh who accomplished a rescue mission for us.  To borrow a phrase from WWE legend Bret Hart our savior really and truly is “The best there is, the best there was, the best there ever will be.”

“There is strength in the name of the Lord
There is power in the name of the Lord
There is hope in the name of the Lord”

Yes it’s an evil age but we have a hope and a rescue plan.  We also are on mission to share that rescue plan with others.  It’s been said over and over again but 100 years from now the only thing that matters is someone’s relationship with Jesus Christ.
