Stressed

Stressed

We live in a world of things that cause stress.  I want to start this blog by showing you lyrics to a song by DeGarmo and Key because I think we all can relate.  There comes a point where we need to get away and seek God.

“I cannot smile

Don’t blame me if I do not try

I might just cry

If you will please pardon me

While I get down on my knees

I’m stressed

So, baby, I’m stressed.

Searching my soul

Nothing I find that I’ve done wrong

Should bring this on

I’m not feeling like I should

When my sweat has turned to blood

When your light grows dim

Cast your cares on Him”

I had a moment this past week when I got home from work, and I was just mentally and emotionally exhausted.  I had previously read these passages I’m about to share, and I needed them. I needed to be reminded by God that he calls us to seek Him in prayer.  The struggles we face we can bring to Him.

Matthew 11:28-30

“Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you.  Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.

1 Peter 5:7

“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.”

Psalm 23:3

“He restores my soul.  He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.”

“When life’s river

becomes a trickling stream

I’ve got to remember

He will make a way to find the sea

When the ground is dry and cracking

From the heat of my daily routine

That’s when I slow down and listen

And hear my Savior whispering

Come to me

Come to me

When you are weary

When you are wandering

Come to me, Come to me

Cast your cares upon the One

Whose yoke is easy

And who’s burden is light.”
