Small thing

Small thing

I want to talk about ear wax.  What the heck is Zac doing starting a Bible study blog with such a weird statement? I’ll get to that in a little bit.  So, Friday night I was outdoors talking to my coworkers and not a whole lot of people know this but my wife and I both wear hearing aids.  Well as a person with hearing aids you tend to become a bit of a small-time mechanic as you learn to care for them.  See as my friends or coworkers talked, I noticed I had less and less hearing in my left ear.  It was a small thing.  Simply put ear wax was clogging my hearing aid.  Your ears will fight you.  There’s a reason I bring up a small thing like this you’re about to see.  I’m about to show you a passage that preachers have gone over many times at least in my hearing but I want to show you one specific word it’s a small thing, but it is actually huge.

Matthew 9:35-36

“Jesus travelled through all the towns and villages of that area, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the good news about the Kingdom.  And he healed every kind of disease and illness.  When he saw the crowds, he had Compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.”

“Everyone needs compassion

A love that’s never failing

Let mercy fall on me

Everyone needs forgiveness

The kindness of a Savior”

When you’re lost, confused or helpless you need compassion.  That’s the small word that’s huge.  Jesus is a great physician, and he has the perfect bedside manner.

It’s a small thing but we need compassion, and we need to show it to others.  I’m not always good at showing it.  You can’t exactly hear about compassion when ear wax clogs your ears.  Clean em out and learn something about a small word.  Yes, I’m ending this with a minor joke to make you think.
