Authorities

Authorities

There is something I have seen people do on Facebook that to me is very wrong.  The whole defund the police concept is wrong because it promotes lawlessness.  Also, I have seen people post where a speed trap is.  Usually, police will not stop you unless you’re doing something wrong.  99% of traffic stops are cause and effect.  You do something wrong and well duh you brought it on yourself.  But seriously don’t post online where a speed trap is.  The police are there to weed out the wrong doers and help the others who are driving correctly.  If you’re not following the rules of the road you’re creating hazardous situations for those around you and endangering them.  God actually has the police in place for a reason.  I will show you in five verses in Romans.

Romans 13:1-5

“Everyone must submit to governing authorities.  For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God.  So, anyone who rebels against authority is rebelling against what God has instituted and they will be punished.  For the authorities do not strike fear in people who are doing right, but in those who are doing wrong.  Would you like to live without fear of the authorities?  Do what is right, and they will honor you.  The authorities are God’s servants, sent for your good.  But if you are doing wrong, of course you should be afraid, for they have the power to punish you.  They are God’s servants sent for the very purpose of punishing those who do what is wrong.  So, you must submit to them, not only to avoid punishment, but also to keep a clear conscience.”

People who don’t speed don’t worry about speeding tickets.  Those who don’t do drugs don’t worry about being caught with illegal drugs.  Lessons that even the Scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz can teach.  I mean “If I only had a brain.”
