Christmas by way of Psalms 100

Before we look at Psalms 100 i want to shift your focus to Psalms 102:18.  "Let this be recorded for future generations, so that a people not yet born will praise the Lord."  Think about that for a moment God has so preserved his word over the ages so you and I and even people to come after us who have yet to be born will praise him.

1.  "Shout with joy to the Lord all the earth!"  Ever seen those moments at churches where its so somber you'd think the service was for a funeral instead?  God wants his people to be joyful.
2.  "Worship the Lord with gladness.  Come before him singing with joy."  I'm not always the best in the joy and gladness department but I'm working on it.
3.  "Acknowledge that the Lord is God!  He made us and we are his.  We are his people the sheep of his pasture."  The first phrase in this verse says to acknowledge the Lord is God.  Lately when I'm having a bad time at work I have been walking outside at work letting a breath out and saying "God you're still in control."  It lifts a great weight off me.
4.  "Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise.  Give thanks to him and praise him."  God deserves our praise.
5.  "For the Lord is good.  His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation."

At Real Life Corpus we have been going over how worship ties into Christmas.  some of you need some good news to make you smile this Christmas and some of you need to worship God.  This is Christmas by way of Psalms 100.  Over 2000 years ago God who is good and his unfailing love continues forever sent his son because his faithfulness continues to all generations.  His word has been preserved for future generations to read and praise him.  Jesus isn't in a manger anymore He's a risen King that God sent to die on the cross to forgive you and me from our sins because of unfailing love.  This Christmas worship your King.
