I like to think............

If you watch interviews with celebrities you often hear sad statements like this.  "Well I like to think I'm a spiritual person."  Or "I have faith."  Or here's this one that sadly I see a lot online.  "Prayers sent."  Of course you're a spiritual person God made you with a spirit.  You have faith well hooray for you but who or what is that faith in?  You sent prayers uh ok but exactly who or what did you pray to?

Let me introduce you to a downright scary verse.  James 2:19 " You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God.  Good for you!  Even the demons believe this and they tremble in terror."  You say you have faith but it better be in the right person and that is in Jesus Christ who died on the cross for your sins.  God sent his son for us because we needed a Savior.  Faith yes is needed but it has to be placed correctly.  See one day we will answer to God.  You can do so having been washed by the blood of the Lamb Jesus Christ or still in sin but make no mistake your knee will bow.  It's very clear.  Philippians 2:9-11 "Therefore God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,  and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of the Father."
You can say prayers sent all you want and you can say you're spiritual but you better make sure you're heart is right with the King of Kings.

Hebrews 11:1-3. "Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.  Through their faith, the people in day's of old earned a good reputation.  By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God's command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen."

So what's the foundation for your faith, who are you praying to?  Are you spiritual or are you building your life on the Son of God who rose from the dead?  All are good questions and examining what you believe is needed.  2 Corinthians 13:5. "Examine yourselves to see if your faith is genuine.  Test yourselves.  Surely you know that Jesus Christ is among you; if not you have failed the test of genuine faith."

2 Timothy 1:12 "That is why I am suffering here in prison.  But I am not ashamed of it for I know the one in whom I trust, and I am sure that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him till the day of his return."
