Let hope rise. Psalms 145:14

If you have followed the Batcave blog for any length of time you know i have a tendency to include a song often called With Everything by Hillsong.  There's a line in that song I would like to bring to your attention.  "So let hope rise and darkness tremble in your Holy light that every eye will see Jesus our God great and mighty to be praised."  When God does anything it is for His glory.  I discovered this verse this week and it goes so well with the words of Jesus.  Psalms 145:14 says this.  "The Lord helps the fallen and lifts those bent beneath their loads."  We are all carrying loads and struggles and burdens but we aren't meant to do this on our own.  Matthew 11:28-30 says this and this is Jesus speaking.  "Come to me, all of you who are weak and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest Take my yoke upon you.  Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light."  There is a saying "Well God will never give me more than I can handle."  That is an absolute lie.  God will always give you more than you can handle.  Do you want to know why?  So you will have a free will choice to turn to him.  too many people choose drugs, sex, liquor, and many other things to mask the pain of life instead of seeking the God who created them and letting Him change their lives.  The answer for why God brings things into your life that you can't handle is found in 1 Peter 5:7  "Give all your worries and cares to God for he cares about you,"  He gets the glory out of taking care of you.  One other verse I want you to look at.  Psalms 18:19 "He led me to a place of safety; He rescued me because He delights in me."  This week cast your cares on God because He cares for you and delights in you.  Let hope rise in your heart.

Psalms 136:1-9 God's faithful love endures forever

Simply put you and I need to be more thankful to God.  Why?  Because we have enough reasons too.  I'm going to bring to you some verses to make it a little less fuzzy for you.


1.  "Give thanks to the Lord for He is good! His faithful love endures forever."  There's a common misconception people have that God sits on his throne just looking for a reason to hurl lightening bolts at people.  Even if you read mythology or something with false gods in it you will find a description of gods who are fickle and to be feared.  You will find a lot of that in Percy Jackson, Wonder Woman and Thor.  That's not the picture we get in this verse.  
2.  "Give thanks to the God of gods.  His faithful love endures forever."  In Acts 17:16-34 Paul goes to the city of Athens and the people are worshiping idols.  There were so many idols there was even an altar to the unknown god.  Paul preaches to them and teaches them that all idols are false gods and introduces them to the God of all creation whose love endures forever.
3.  "Give thanks to the Lord of lords.  His faithful love endures forever."  Lords refers to rulers God has authority over all of them.  
4.  "Give thanks to Him alone who does mighty miracles.  His faithful love endures forever."  The biggest miracle in the world is God sent his son to die on a cross be raised to life and He is still changing lives today.  
5.  Give thanks to Him who made the heavens so skillfully.  His faithful love endures forever."  Watch the sky and see God's artwork.  
6.  "Give thanks to Him who placed the earth among the waters.  His faithful love endures forever."  He put all this together to house us ungrateful humans.  
7-9.  "Give thanks to Him who made the heavenly lights, the sun to rule the day and the moon and stars to rule the night.  His faithful love endures forever.  

God's love endures forever let that sink in.
