Walking thoughts stress and trapezes
Wednesday night at work I was a bit stressed out. I had been walking a lot at work and the issue bothering me I kept trying to pray and leave in God's capable hands. Often when we get stressed out we need to get our eyes off ourselves and back on God. I want to share some verses that got my attention. 1 Timothy 1:1 "This letter is from Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus, appointed by the command of God our Savior and Christ Jesus who gives us hope." That last word there is hope. God gives us that and we often need to be reminded. The battle whatever you're facing it's not over yet but God can give you hope. I want to share with you 8 more verses to adjust your focus back on God. "O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water. I have seen you in your sanctuary and gazed upon your power and glory. Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you! I will praise you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer. You will satisfy me more than the richest feast. I will praise you with songs of joy. I lie awake thinking of you, meditating on you through the night. Because you are my helper, I sing for joy in the shadow of your wings. I cling to you; your strong right hand holds me securely." Psalms 63:1-8

What about you?
A few years ago there was a movie that asked a simple question: "What about Bob". This blog however is not about Bob. My question is where are you turning? See there was a series of books back when I was a kid called Choose your own adventure. Where are your choices taking you? King David made some choices and in Psalms 59 he talks a lot about his enemies and he had a lot of them but then you get almost to the end of the chapter and that's where he really chooses his own adventure. So I'm not asking you about Bob but after you read this I want you to consider "But as for me". That's when it becomes personal because I can't make the choices for you. Psalms 59:16-17 "But as for me, I will sing about your power. Each morning I will sing about your unfailing love. For you have been my refuge, a place of safety when I am in distress. O my Strength, to you I sing praises, for you, O God, are my refuge, the God who shows me unfailing love." Deuteronomy 30:19-20 "Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live. You can make this choice by loving the Lord your God, obeying him, and committing yourself firmly to him. This is your key to life. And if you love and obey the Lord, you will live long in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac and Jacob". Choose life love and follow God. "But as for me." David knew what he was choosing. Do you?

Continuing theme
- What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
Oh, what peace we often forfeit,
Oh, what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer! - Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged—
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful,
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness;
Take it to the Lord in prayer. - Are we weak and heavy-laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge—
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there. - Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised
Thou wilt all our burdens bear;
May we ever, Lord, be bringing
All to Thee in earnest prayer.
Soon in glory bright, unclouded,
There will be no need for prayer—
Rapture, praise, and endless worship
Will be our sweet portion there.
As I thought of the continuing theme I'm going to tell you about I had been on Facebook and Christian singer and author Sheila Walsh did a live video talking about the same phrase I had been relaying to David. She mentioned Psalm 143:8 "Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk for I give myself to you." The continuing theme I have noticed this time reading through Psalms is two words in reference to God and that is mention of his unfailing love. Psalm 5:7 "Because of your unfailing love, I can enter your house; I will worship at your temple with deepest awe." 13:5 "But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me. 17:7 "Show me your unfailing love in wonderful ways. By your mighty power you rescue those who seek refuge from their enemies."
We all at some point have experienced a person saying they love us and then that ended. To us the broken because that's what we are I urge you to seek God wholeheartedly. Over and over he tries to tell us in the Bible his love doesn't fail. If you don't know God He sent his only son to die on a cross to save you. If you are a Christian continue to seek him and rest in this. Romans 8:38-39 "And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow-- not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below-- indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord." That is what unfailing love looks like. "This is the story of the Son of God hanging on the cross for me. But it ends with a bride and groom and a wedding by a glassy sea. O, Death where is your sting singing Holy Holy Holy is the Lord."
