"Your mission should you choose to accept it."
Gifts must be accepted. There's a group of people if you ask them how they are going to get to Heaven who say "I keep the Ten Commandments or my good deeds will outweigh the bad." You can't earn salvation. You simply can't be good enough ever. James 2:10 "For the person who keeps all of the laws except one is as guilty as a person who has broken all of God's laws." Hopefully by the end of this you will be thanking God and if you're relying on something other than Jesus Christ to save you I hope you change that plan. Romans 3:23 "For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard." There is no other way to Salvation except through Jesus Christ. He clearly stated in John 14:6 "I am the way the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me." So for the people who want to try keeping the law or good deeds it will not work. Galatians 3:21-22 "Is there a conflict, then, between God's law and God's promises? Absolutely not! If the law could give us new life, we could be made right with God by obeying it. But the scriptures declare that we are all prisoners of sin so we receive God's promise of freedom only by believing in Jesus Christ." Ephesians 2:1-10 1Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. 2You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. 3All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else.
4But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much,
5that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)
6For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.
7So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus.
8God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.
9Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.
10For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
See once we realize that we can't earn salvation we become more thankful because it's no longer about what we do. It's about what God has done through his son Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:21 "For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ."

I don't often talk about the songs chosen for the blog posting but I feel like doing so. Wednesday night Marion and I were heading to Walgreens and I have a lot of music on my MP3 player and it started playing this song by Kim Hill called Make a Joyful Noise. At the beginning of the blog my goal was to push the reader to thanksgiving to God so that's why this song is here because my wife reminded me it was a really good song. Way beyond the blue is here because it quotes directly from the passage in Ephesians 2. The song With arms wide open is self explanatory once you pay attention to the words. By your side is here because it talks about it not being what we can do but what God did already.
